If i was a parent, i would want my kinds to be raise bilingual ( i struggle with spanish nowadays) i would probably would raise her based on how my parents raise me, my mom push a lot of eating habits on me, (she always wanted me to be skinny) so with that, she also made negative comments about my weight, i refused to make my kids feel negative about themselves, i will only push healthy eating habits but also  letting loose in a while, i am not going to be spending my life worrying about their weight til its actually concerning and i will encourage them if they do want to lose weight or don’t, they are in charge of their bodies, they don’t have to unless they want to for themselves. I am also going to be stern but I wont use spanking or hitting as i dont see its effect on other kids, time outs and privileges taken will be much better. They will also learn to be grateful as their will be kids their age who have it worse, they will learn to be kind, treat others with kindness and if they don’t do the same,simply don’t waste your time on them, they will be spoiled but humbled, if i see them flashing their lifestyle or being mean, i will take it all away and show them how people in our family (including me) had to due without the little things.  I will also encourage them for school. They have to finish high school and have to give college a chance. If not they have to have a good stable job and learn the responsibilities of an adult. And if they give me lip i will say “your grandma and grandpa came to america, with no english, struggle with cruelty from people, suffer abuse from their parents and work their asses off to support 4 children, and those children suffer the same thing to get a better life, i am working my ass off so you can do better than me but you wanna fail behind? You want to slack off?not my kid. Other kids can because they don’t give a damn about their future which means their parents will pay them a future, sorry im not that parent but i am pushing myself so you can reach to the top but i cant do all the pushing,” i will also mention they didnt let chicanos and mexican-americans didnt get an education nor a good one so education is very important to me, to me its the biggest f you to every racist who assumes the worst out of me.
