My favorite book as a kid was actually about segregation in the 50s, called little lions of little rock which was about a little white girl befriending a little black girl at her school, her school is segregation but the little black girl was able to get in because she was either mix or just really light brown and passed as a white girl. Since befriending her, the white girl decided to gain the courage to speak up against segregation, against her parents, protest which i think help me gain the confidence to speak out on injustice like ICE attacking people, donald trump making things harder on us or cops brutally. Which it definitely needs more attention and more people to speak up on it to proof to our government that we wont allow this type of treatment to the people especially with ICE shooting at us, hunting us down like animals. So just enjoying the book when i was a child has taught me to speak up about something I don’t think its right. Honestly it was a bit hard for me to find interest in the books as a child so i didnt rlly like books growing up but now im growing ot love them a little more, one of my favorite book i read since in high school was last night at the telegraph club which a love story between two girls who sneak out and go to a hidden gay club together, i love the way i get chills from the book, it had really made me get back into reading more.
